The challenges of war: social stratification and isolation

Description: promoting psychological recovery and social cohesion between military personnel and civilians. This is achieved through joint creative activities, which enable project participants to express their own experiences and empathise with those of others. Using playback theatre and forum theatre techniques, we have created a platform for dialogue and mutual understanding between military personnel and civilians.

Target audience: the team, civilians, military personnel, and military families.

Description: Interactive theatre sessions. Using forum theatre and playback theatre to create a space where military personnel and civilians can communicate directly, share experiences and work together to resolve conflicts. Empathetic listening and expression: Through playback theatre, participants have the opportunity to share their personal stories, which are then immediately re-enacted by actors. This fosters a deep emotional understanding between military personnel and civilians, helping them to see each other’s humanity and shared experiences. Joint problem-solving: Through forum theatre, participants can propose various ways of resolving conflict situations that reflect their real-life challenges. This allows military personnel and civilians to seek solutions to difficult situations together, fostering a sense of shared responsibility and cooperation. Psychological support: Ensuring the presence of psychological support specialists during events helps participants safely process their experiences, which contributes to overall well-being and reduces isolation.

Results: Professional training and development for the project team. A series of theatre workshops was held, during which participants shared their stories and experiences, transforming them into art performances. This enabled participants to release pent-up stress and anxiety, whilst also strengthening their understanding of one another, fostering mutual support and social healing.
