Online work of hospital clowns
- Online sessions with children are a vital part of the work carried out by the ‘Fayni Nosy’ hospital clowns. These sessions enable them to support children wherever they may be.
- Our team works with children living in Ukraine and abroad — in various countries across Europe and the world, including Germany, Turkey, Italy and Poland.
- Every month, clown therapists organise dozens of online sessions. These involve ongoing live interaction with children from various cities — Kharkiv, Verona, Wrocław, Bremen and others. For example, in January and February 2026, they held 20 online sessions each month, and 21 in March.
- Video calls are usually held twice a week with each child; exceptions are made only when a child is in hospital following an operation or medical procedure.
The purpose of this work
These online sessions are more than just clown therapy sessions; the purpose of this work runs much deeper, because we're talking about a long-term relationship. The clowns have known many of the children for several years now, and these online interactions have become a real space for support, trust and friendship. During these sessions with the young participants, the clown therapists improvise, joke, play and also talk about the things that worry the children most: school, learning and changes in their lives.
Remote support sessions help maintain a sense of stability, control and connection, despite having to relocate or undergo treatment abroad. Video calls for children enable them to continue communicating in a Ukrainian-speaking environment, feel supported and stay connected to what matters most to them.
This area of work is being carried out thanks to the support of IT-company Dysnix Charity Foundation, which ensures the continuity of online communication and thereby expands access to psychosocial support for Ukrainian children around the world.
